Hello Beautiful Soul š
My name is Dr. Erin Lightfoot, CEO of Lightfoot Self and Soul ā which was birthed through my own deeply transformative (often messy) spiritual healing journey.
My passion for mindfulness, self-regulation, and emotional literacy developed from my lifelong struggle with anxiety.
See, I was once a righteous Fearful Avoidant (FA) attachment style with a *heavily* leaning Anxious side. In typical FA fashion, I struggled most of my life with high functioning anxiety, depression, crippling perfectionism, fear of criticism, pent up anger, unexplainable digestive issues, migraines, a vicious inner critic, and a highly sensitive nervous system leaving me in a constant state of āfight or flightā.
Sounds fun, right?! Yeah, no.
In relationships, I kept attracting emotionally unavailable partners & lackluster friendships, which spurred my ruminating thoughts, catastrophizing worst case scenarios, feelings of inadequacy, and unconscious habits of dismissing my own needs in order to avoid the sting of rejection.
I was stuck in patterns of codependency, people pleasing, and relying on judgement and gossiping as a form of emotional connection (which always ended up making me feel worse) or just ignoring everyone altogether (even though I craved closeness).
Consciously, I knew I wanted to feel betterā¦I just didnāt know where to start, or even how to articulate what was going on with me!
Sound familiar?
I will never forget this moment
It wasn't until my first job out of college - and I will never forget this moment - the staff and I were sitting around a conference table being trained in mindfulness breathing techniques. Well, I had never heard the term āmindfulnessā before, though I was willing to try.
This experience became one of the most pivotal moments of. my. life.Ā
I couldnāt help but notice how calm, focused, and grounded I felt onlyĀ minutesĀ after a simple breathing practice - just wow!
I distinctly remember thinking āI donāt know what just happenedā¦but I want more ofĀ that!ā
This ended up sparking my breadcrumb trail toward wellness and healing! I started taking a variety of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation classes ā I just wanted to keep soaking up all this yummy good feeling of calm -Ā cuz frankly, I was tired of feeling like a cat on a hot tin roof ALL THE DAMN TIME!
It got me thinking āhow might my life have been different if I had been taught to breathe as a child?ā Not that I had some tumultuous childhood, though it may have given me language to describe how I was feeling with tools to help me regulate.
Fast forward, I now have a PhD inĀ Mindfulness for Kindergarteners in Public Education, with an emphasis in fostering self-regulation and emotional literacy for relational leadership development.
Learning the emotional world of a 5-year-old has unquestionably shaped my understanding of how to support theĀ inner childĀ of an adult,Ā as this all points right to the subconscious core wounds that were imprinted between the ages of 0-2 (which is *exactly* what I help you reprogram )
Iām also aĀ certified: Breath coach, Gibson Integrated Attachment Theory coach, IIN Health and Nutrition coach, and a Yoga & Mindfulness Instructor.
I'm now on a mission to hold a lantern for amazing souls like yourself on the path toward deeper spiritual healing in this lifetime ā because it sucks to live feeling stuck in cycles of anxiety.

My first ādark night of the soulā occurred 20 years ago after a gnarly heartbreak with a Dismissive Avoidant (DA), who I truly believe was an Earth Angel sent to teach me a valuable lesson about the strength of my soul.
While going through that breakup suuuucked, I am forever grateful for what I learned. It set me on my healing path where I have grown, healed, and completely transformed in ways beyond my wildest imagination!
I realized what was standing in my way were a slew of limiting beliefs that were imprinted into my subconscious mind from a very early age.
This created incessant thoughts & hypervigilance with not being able to trust anyone, fearing Iāll be betrayed, feeling unworthy, unimportant, weak if I was vulnerable, scared people were talking sh*t on me...the list goes on.
Though all this was doing was inhibiting me from living the truest expression of myself.
Why? Because I was letting my subconscious fears take the wheel of my life and sabotage my conscious desires to feel happy & healthy, with a strong sense of Self.
Until I finally said āF that noiseā and set out on a spiritual healing path ~ thatās when things began to shift IMMENSELY!

My Personal Life
Outside of my professional and academic world, I lead a full life with my awesome partner, our three children, and our sweet kitty, Phoebe! Weāre a giant pack of nerds who enjoy Saturday night movies (which includes fighting over who gets to pick the movie, lol), dressing up for Halloween, LA Sports teams (Go Lakers, Dodgers, and Kings ā woo hoo!), and attending any and all carnival, festival, or arcade in sight! Fun fact: my son is Autistic, ADHD, and OCD ā so to all of you special needs parents out there ā I see you. I see you and I see your babies, tooā¦because life is not easy for them either. Though I can declare without hesitation that learning how to regulate your nervous system makes life WAAAAAY smoother for both you and your child. Youāre better able to manage the stress and feel at home in your body, even amidst the seemingly never-ending chaos.
